Louth Local Development is the programme implementor of the Louth Area Based Childhood (ABC) Programme aims to work in partnership with families, practitioners, communities and national stakeholders to deliver better outcomes for children (aged 0 - 12 years) and families living in County Louth.
The ABC Programme works from a strengths-based approach, harnessing the talents, abilities and capabilities of the family and community.
This is achieved by using evidence based prevention an early intervention programmes and approaches.
We use three methods to influence positive change:
1. Direct Service Delivery to Families & Children
2. Capacity Building of Local Services
3. Systems Change – Evidence Informed Decision Making
The Louth ABC Programme coordinates the implementation of a number of targeted interventions.
In addition, The Louth ABC Programme provides coaching and capacity building to all Group Leaders delivering these interventions. All Group Leaders are encouraged and supported to participate in Peer Coach sessions.
The ABC (Area Based Childhood) Programme is a national prevention and early intervention programme funded by Tusla -The Child and Family Agency.
